Afroditi Loukidou is a PostgreSQL and Open Source enthusiast, currently working as a Senior Technical Lead at EDB. She studied Industrial Informatics and holds an MSc in Computer Networks.
In her journey with PostgreSQL, which started at 2ndQuadrant, Afroditi worked as a PostgreSQL engineer assisting several customers with operational aspects, maintenance, tuning, upgrades and more. The current role gives her exposure to architectural aspects and large scale projects of varied complexity.
She is a reviewer of the PostgreSQL Administration Cookbook.
Talk given together with Gianni Ciolli.
Reproducible production environments are more important than other “nice to have” features: they enable successful deployments, performance testing, and fast incident response, by minimizing uncertainty and reducing downtime when most needed.
We will explore how TPA can help with replicate your Postgres production cluster, by enabling reproducibility as a solid engineering practice leading to improved performance confidence, safer deployments and overall system resilience. We will conclude with a practical example where we reproduce a production environment and then carry out performance testing at 1:1 scale while keeping cloud costs negligible.
